Sunway University Press successfully organised the forum Bear Essentials of Biodiversity: From Passion to Empowerment a virtual event held in conjunction with the International Day for Biological Diversity 2021.

Professors Dr Mohamed Kheireddine Aroua and Dr Saidur Rahman of the School of Engineering and Technology (SET), Sunway University were recently celebrated as Malaysia's Global Top 1% Researchers by Clarivate's Web of Science, at a virtual award ceremony that feted 19 of the top researchers in Malaysia.

It was a distinguished ceremony of gratitude, celebration and achievement for the graduates, recognising their accomplishment despite the uncertainty and challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the current pandemic lockdown, the School of Hospitality and Service Management (SHSM) has engaged with Passage to ASEAN (P2A) in an international initiative.

The SEG team celebrated first day of Raya together with 71 students virtually.

In conjunction with Ramadhan, the Philanthropy Office treated a 'buka puasa' meal to 271 Sunway University and Sunway College students.

At a recent School of Hospitality and Service Management research seminar, Dr Apisalome Movono, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Development Studies, Massey University (New Zealand) presented on “Tourism in a World of Disorder: A Return to the Vanua and Kinship with Nature”.

Degree students from the School of Hospitality and Service Management under the Community Service subject managed to collectively raise a total of RM9,375.92 for Sunway Education Group (SEG) COVID-19 Student Support Fund.

Running for the third semester is ‘First Steps: Sunway & Malaysia’ (piloted as ‘Sunway: The Virtual Experience’ in August 2020) where new Sunway international students are provided with an introduction to the Sunway & Malaysian culture.
