Kanchana Chandran holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) from University of London and a Degree of Master of Laws from University of Malaya. She was admitted as an Utter Barrister of the Honourable Society of Inner Temple, London in July 2012, a Solicitor of England & Wales in February 2008 and an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in April 1997. She has been exposed to both disputed and undisputed areas of practice which include among others negotiating sale and purchase agreements, tenancy agreements and terms of settlement. The disputed areas of practice range from banking litigation to premises claims and contract claims with a High Court trial experience as well as appearing before the Court of Appeal Malaysia (Appellate Jurisdiction). She has also attended to legal documentations for conveyancing (sale and transfer or assignment of real properties) involving transactions with developers (development project) as well as sub-sale of such real properties; attended to security documentations (charge and assignment/equitable mortgage) in favour of banks and other institutional lenders. She has also handled matters relating to registration of trademarks; submitting legal arguments in response to objections raised by the Registrar of Trademarks in relation to the registration of a trademark as well as handled matters relating to Wills and trusts.

On the academic front, Kanchana has tutored on Equity, Trust, Administration of Estates & Wills at the University of Malaya (UM). She has also taught at the Inti International University College on Constitutional Law, General Principles of Malaysian Law and Business Law. She is currently attached to the Centre for Commercial Law and Justice as a Senior Lecturer at Sunway Business School for the business degree programmes validated by Lancaster University.

Kanchana has taken a keen interest in Knowledge Management (KM) which involves the process of creating, sharing, using and managing knowledge within an organization. It combines several disciplines or skills that add value to an organization in achieving its objectives.
