The department of Film and Performing Arts participated in a research workshop on Translocality and Performance organized by KunstUniversität Graz, sponsored by ASIA-UNINET and hosted by USM School of Arts.

The School of Arts hosted a “harpsichord residency”, with the harpsichord being the grandfather of the modern-day piano.

The School of Hospitality hosted its tenth Research Seminar Series. Recently, Ms Rachel Thomas, a lecturer at the School, specialising in food technology, presented on "Wild Eats: Nutritional Evaluation of Wild Edible Vegetables Traditionally Consumed by the Orang Asli".
